LAS VEGAS, NV / CRWE PRESS RELEASE / August 21, 2026 - The number that ends a high school football career is rarely their forty time.

For athletes who finish high school without a scholarship offer, the decision about whether to keep playing often comes down to a calculation made at the kitchen table. Program fees are just the start. Equipment, travel, housing for players competing away from home, and the income an athlete gives up by committing to a full schedule all land on families who are frequently already covering tuition, rent, and everything else.

Those costs can add up and decide who keeps playing. An athlete working full-time to fund a season ends up fitting football around a job, and the practices, meetings, and travel he misses are the same ones that develop him. He is essentially paying to participate in something he cannot fully attend. 

Scholarship assistance can close that gap by reducing or removing the need to find additional income. A player who does not have to work through the season attends every practice, sits in every meeting, and prepares for opponents on the same schedule as his teammates, which is the consistency that produces development in the first place. 

It also spares a family from weighing a son's season against the rest of the household budget, which is a calculation that tends to end the same way when money is tight. When cost stops being the deciding factor, an athlete has a better chance to be evaluated on what he does on the field rather than on what his family can afford. 

Some programs have started addressing that directly, including the St. George Silver, which announced scholarships this month for athletes in Southern Utah and told local players the team does not want cost to determine who keeps competing. Applications are open through the program. 

For an athlete who receives that assistance, the NJCP season includes weekly practices, coaching from staffs that include former high school head coaches, collegiate assistants, and former professional players, and a full schedule of games. Those games are recorded and livestreamed, producing current film that college coaching staffs at all levels can evaluate.
