Las Vegas, Nevada / CRWE PRESS RELEASE / May 21, 2026 — The National Junior College Prep (NJCP) Football League continues to emphasize a development model that combines football competition with academic flexibility, mentorship, and access to accredited coursework for student-athletes pursuing opportunities after high school.
NJCP's approach is built around giving athletes a chance to continue playing while completing their education in a way that fits the demands of a full football season. Through online schooling and access to Southern Utah University's online undergraduate programs, players can stay on track academically without being tied to a traditional brick-and-mortar schedule, creating more flexibility in how they manage their day-to-day responsibilities.
The league also places value on support beyond the classroom. NJCP's model includes tutors and mentors, with guidance designed to help athletes manage both their football careers and their long-term development. With the SUU partnership, players also gain access to a more structured academic platform designed to help them remain transfer-ready and maintain NCAA eligibility as they continue their football careers.
For athletes and families, the league's live-streamed game model adds another layer of access. NJCP plans to stream every game live, giving families a way to follow competition in real time while also creating consistent game footage for athletes throughout the season.
NJCP's broader focus remains centered on helping athletes continue their football careers while also giving them a pathway to stay connected to education and personal growth. The league has pointed to mentorship, academic support, and structured football competition as core parts of that approach.
"The goal is simple: zero academic casualties," said NJCP Commissioner Shawn Jones. "We've built a league on grit and national pride, but that talent has to be backed by a solid academic foundation. By integrating SUU's platform into our league structure, we provide our players with support in the classroom so they can stay focused on the field."
Southern Utah University also emphasized the value of the collaboration. "We're excited to partner with NJCP to give student-athletes the chance to continue their education while developing on the field and beyond," said Lynn Kvamme, Director of Recruitment and Partnerships at SUU Online.
As the 2026 season approaches, NJCP continues to present itself as a football pathway designed to support athletes on and off the field through competition, education, and guidance.
