The G7 leaders of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America and the Presidents of the European Council and European Commission, issued a joint declaration affirming their unwavering commitment to a free, independent, democratic, and sovereign Ukraine.
They consider Russia's invasion of Ukraine as a threat to international peace and security, in violation of international law.
The declaration outlines their support for Ukraine's defense against Russian aggression, their commitment to Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and their efforts to strengthen its economic stability and resilience.
In the event of future armed attacks, they intend to provide Ukraine with swift and sustained security assistance, military equipment, and economic support.
The declaration also emphasizes holding Russia accountable for its actions and pursuing mechanisms for reparations.
Ukraine, in turn, is committed to partner security, reforms, and defense modernization.
The EU and other countries are ready to contribute to this effort, while Ukraine pursues a path towards Euro-Atlantic membership.
